About Me

As already mentioned on the front page, I am an programmer and (former) IT teacher with several years experience of using and developing plugins for the Moodle Virtual Learning Environment. Since Nov 2011 I have been working as a developer for Synergy Learning.

I have a degree in Computer Science, from the University of Manchester and, before I entered the world of teaching, I spent 3 years as a programmer on Superman: Shadow of Apokolips for Nintendo GameCube and Sony PlayStation 2.

I've programmed in more languages than I can keep track of, but the list includes: C++, Z80 Assembly, PHP, Javascript, Visual Basic, Python; alongside other, related, mark-up languages such as HTML, CSS and XML.

When not teaching or programming, I like to spend time with my wife and two young children. We are all active members of our local church - St Stephen's, Netherthorpe, helping out with the sound desk, serving breakfasts at the weekly Community Cafe and looking after one of the weekly home groups.

For the last few years I've also helped in the organising of the annual Peace in the Park music festival here in Sheffield, as well as being part of the Friends group for the local Ruskin Park.
